Cameras are available to fit any application.  From small, unobtrusive “Bullet Cameras” (Pictured Below), to cameras that can read a license plate at 100 yards or more.  Cameras that pan, tilt, and zoom to get just the picture you want used to cost several thousand dollars. Now less than a thousand.  And Covert Cameras like the “Clock Camera” (Pictured Below) are impossible to detect. They also come in the form of smoke detectors, motion detectors, exit signs, etc. Infrared Illuminators (Pictured Below) allow cameras to see clearly in total darkness up to 100 feet or more.
